Members of SOEEA have wealth of outdoor skills we are eager to share with you! If there is a particular area of interest to you please let us know as we can probably track down someone who could provide you some training and information.
Winter Camping
In December 2010 we organized a winter camping trip near Lumsden, SK. Participants built quinzhees to sleep in, learned winter survival skills and played outside.
GeoCaching
Geocaching is a high-tech treasure hunting game played throughout the world by adventure seekers equipped with GPS devices. The basic idea is to locate hidden containers, called geocaches, outdoors and then share your experiences online. Geocaching is enjoyed by people from all age groups, with a strong sense of community and support for the environment.
SOEEA organizes GeoCaching workshops at festivals and events around Saskatchewan. If you would like to organize a workshop please email soeea.sk@gmail.com and we would be pleased to set something up with you. Watch below for a list of the events and dates where you can join us to do some geocaching.
Solar Ovens
If you’ve ever been inside a car with the windows rolled up on a sunny summer day, then you know the power of the sun to heat. Solar Ovens are a fantastic way to capture the sun’s energy and help us cook food.
